Family Session At-Home in Lincoln Park | The Karas Family

I’m always so flattered when I get to photograph the same family on multiple different occasions. It’s basically them saying they trust me, feel comfortable and value my work. What a wonderful mindset to have going into a photoshoot. This was my third time photographing the Karas family. My first session with them was back in the fall of 2020. Beau wasn’t yet three and had quite a lot of energy for me to try to keep up with. I absolutely loved the photos from that session, so I was so happy to hear from them again in the spring of 2021. Allison told me she was pregnant with another baby boy and wanted some maternity photos as well as a few photos of her growing family (maybe I’ll get around to blogging that session one day). And then our most recent session together – little Max was born and I came to their home to document all the newborn love and excitement. Beau seemed to remember me this time around and warmed up quickly. We ran around and played and took photos in between. I’m always in awe witnessing the angelic essence newborns have. I think these photographs really capture the purity and wholesomeness that was felt in those moments. The delicateness of a soul in a brand new body. It’s equally surreal and beautiful.
