Lincoln Park Family Session | The Kelleys

One of my favorite parts about documenting families is seeing the kids grow through the years. I first photographed the Kelley family in September 2020 at Lyman Woods. Little Dylan could barely keep up with his big sis so it was so cute to see him running around with her in Lincoln Park a year later.

Although I love the look and feel of shooting during golden hour (early evening when the light is soft), sometimes you have to pick a time when the children will be their happiest. For Sienna and Dylan that time was around 10am, and even though the sun was straight up in the sky and super bright, I really love how it translates into the photos. It exudes the warm, bubbly, energetic energy of this family of four. We were able to play around in the bright sun as well as find good spots with shade. So never feel discouraged when you have to pick an “unideal” time for your photoshoot. Really beautiful images can come out of any time of day.

I love photographing a family as a whole, but the bond between two siblings is something so incredibly precious. When little humans reach out to grab each other’s hands my heart nearly bursts. I love looking for these special, unplanned moments between children because those are the moments that really matter. Those are the moments that fill your chest with so much warmth and connection. How amazing to witness such a pure form of love and get to capture it for them to have forever.
