Humboldt Park Golden Hour Photoshoot | The DeAlteris Family

Humboldt Park in the summer is one of my absolute favorite places to be. It’s a tranquil pocket of nature inside a bustling city. Some of my favorite sessions have taken place at Humboldt Park because there are endless spots to explore.

This family session I was lucky enough to not only capture the joy of a newborn baby but the energy of an adorable bernedoodle puppy. Liz and Joe showed up laughing because the outfit they had picked out for little Leo did not go according to plan. From then on, things only got a bit more hectic as we all tried to juggle the dynamic of an unhappy infant and an energetic puppy —and through all the craziness, we still had so much fun. It was a lovely reminder how sessions so often do not go as planned. I enjoyed the challenge of capturing this unplanned moment in a beautifully authentic way. It felt real because it was. This is exactly how life looks sometimes - a bit messy and chaotic. And still something to be cherished and remembered forever.
