Boulder, Colorado Portrait Session | Cami

I met Cami through a mutual friend, and I’m oh so glad our souls crossed paths. As we drove out to Boulder together, we quickly went from strangers to friends. I loved hearing about her experience growing up in Chile and connecting over equally deep and silly things.

Right as we pulled up to Dry Creek Trailhead, it began to sprinkle, but we both had no problem with the change in weather forecast. I typically prefer shooting in soft, golden light, but when the surroundings were this beautiful, I could’ve cared less. I was in awe of the landscape. It felt so surreal going from shooting in urban Chicago to the grandness of Colorado.

I really wanted my portrait session with Cami to exude who she was as a person. Even though I had just met her, I had already gotten a glimpse into who she was just by the way she talked and carried herself. She felt like a free-spirit so I wanted our time together to mirror this.

We began the session just wandering around, moving, laughing, and being playful. I was on cloud nine getting to tap into this side of my creativity—playing with nature, colors, and textures. What a dream.

Now that I’ve check off my bucket list (and hope to shoot here many more times), I’d love to see what beauty is in store for these Colorado destinations:

Maroon Bells, Elk Mountain

Crested Butte

Frisco Bay Marina

San Juan Skyway

Estes Park

Manitou Springs

Great Sand Dunes National Park
