At-Home Family Session in Wilmette Illinois | The Jones Family

These are the type of family sessions I can never get enough of. Warm fall afternoons. Beautifully soft, yet crisp light. And the cutest toddler-newborn connection between a brother and his 6 week-old sister. 

I visited the Jones’ home in Wilmette, Illinois for their sweet family session. I really wanted these photos to match the energy I walked into—soft and full of love, a bit sleepy yet so sincere. We lounged in the living room and got some sweet newborn snuggles in by the fire before heading outside to play in the leaves. 

These are some of the quieter moments as a family that I think are just as important to document as any other moment. They’re so true to life. Being home bound for the first month or so of the newborn phase, juggling an energetic 2 year-old, and just trying to maintain normalcy is a forever long pandemic. The realities of growing a family in our current times. 

No matter what your day-to-day reality may look like, it’s worth cherishing and remembering. Because those moments—the messy, the beautiful, the ever so mundane—those moments only last an instant.
