The Dawson Chicago Engagement | Taylor & Tyler

Nothing makes me happier than photographing friends in love. Taylor and I were sorority sisters, roommates, and dear friends during our time at Indiana University. After college, we shared a couple years together in Chicago before she met Tyler and moved to Austin where they now have a beautiful home. 

Tyler proposed to Taylor on a chilly October day in Lincoln Park. Afterwards, he surprised her by having her closest family and friends gather to celebrate at The J. Parker rooftop bar. I was so happy to get to hug her and reunite after not seeing each other for so long. 

Flash forward exactly 10 months, Tay and Ty were back in Chicago and asked to do their engagement photos at the spot they met - The Dawson. We started their session with champagne and photos in the outdoor courtyard, then walked around River West for the remainder of our time together. It felt natural, fun, and carefree. I also really love the edginess of River West and the endless possibilities of urban landscape. It matched their cool demeanor quite well.

Tay and Ty tie the knot in Scottsdale this coming October and I could not be more excited to celebrate their love. They are such beautiful people and deserve all the happiness in the world. Cheers to endless memories and many more champagne toasts shared together :)
