Tova Studios Maternity Session | Paige, Mark & Baby

As I talked with Paige before our session, I learned she is quite artistic and has an eye for photography. To be honest, I sometimes feel intimidated photographing other creatives and photographers because as artists, our standards are rather high. But as I chatted with Paige, I felt an immediate sense of ease and comfort with her. Her energy felt so feminine and genuine, I couldn’t help but want to be her friend. 

Paige expressed her vision for her maternity session and I was very much on board. She wanted to shoot in a studio and have the photos look simple, yet artistic and timeless. Much like photographing creatives, I used to find shooting in a studio space to be quite intimidating. My brain didn't really know where to begin. But now that I have a significant amount of experience shooting in a studio space, I’ve fallen madly in love with the concept. The possibilities are endless in the best way. You can play with different backdrops, lighting, props, SO many things to create artistically unique and creative photographs. 

My personal favorites in this set are the black and white shots of Paige solo and with her husband, Mark. Pregnancy is such an expansive journey, and I think these images really capture the emotion behind it all. The love, the struggle, the sacrifice you experience when creating another human. It’s incredibly beautiful and one of a kind.

Paige and Mark welcomed their baby girl, Alina Rose on September 18th.
