Mt. Falcon Park Colorado Family Session | The Edwards Family
As I drove up the mountain to Mt. Falcon Park, snow flurries began brushing against my windshield. It was the first week of November, so no surprise that it was quite chilly in the mountains of Colorado.
Little Elsie was in good spirits despite the cool temps. Her parents said she is quite used to all types of weather. They are avid hikers, strapping Elsie on to their backs no matter the conditions. She’s a true Colorado kid.
We walked around the park, looking for beautiful views and quiet backdrops, away from the many other families bearing through the cold for their holiday photos. We hung out on a picnic blanket for a bit, enjoying snacks and bubbles against the stoic backdrop of pine trees.
These views will never get old for me. The magnitude, the depth, the serenity of it all. It takes your breath away and makes you feel so alive. Carly and Taylor moved to Colorado only a few years ago so they are equally enthused by it all as well. Do you really ever get used to it? I sure hope not.
I loved getting to shoot both film and digital for this session. Photographing families on film can be a bit challenging because kids often don’t stay still for long, but it is always worth it to me. Film does such a wonderful job of capturing the nostalgia of a moment. The warmth and love and essence of it all. It’s pure magic.
